Football fans and sports fans alike rejoice! On March 11th, 1986, the National Football League adopted an instant replay system for reviewing disputed calls. Before the 1986 regular season, NFL coaches had no means to challenge calls made by officials during play, aside from making a scene and throwing a tantrum like a toddler on the sidelines. The best that a coach could hope for, before official reviews were implemented, was that a blown call would be spotted and overturned by the officials themselves.
